All through early Spring 2025, we worked through the story of God and his people as we are told about it in the bible. Catch up on any of the sermons that you missed in this series on this page.
Genesis 1 - 2:3
John 1: 1-5, 9-13
Revd Abby began our journey through the bible with a look at what happened in the beginning. We can get hung up on the "what" and the "how" but have we spent time thinking about why God wanted to create such a beautiful world?
Genesis 3: 1-23
Mark 8: 34-38
It only took a short while before humanity was persuaded by the enemy to push God away. Revd Abby looks at the account of how Adam and Eve sinned and the tragic consequences of that sin. How can we relate to this in our lives?
Genesis 12 and 15
Once Adam and Eve chose to disobey God, the story of the bible becomes one of God showing that he keeps his promises, even when we don't. Revd Abby looks at how impossible his promises to Abraham looked but how he kept them!
Exodus 33:12 - 34:10
Acts 7: 17-38
On Racial Justice Sunday, Revd Stacy looks at the story of the Exodus and God's freeing of the children of Abraham and "many other people" and how God's mercy and compassion is wider than the limits Moses wants to impose.
Joshua 24: 1-28
Acts 7: 37-51
As God's people claimed the land He promised to Abraham's descendants, they recall their roots, their place in God's story, and their victories and Joshua encourages their response. Lou Peet thinks about what this looks like for us now.
2 Samuel 7: 8, 12-17
2 Chronicles 36: 15-23
Luke 10: 21-24
Revd Abby runs through over 1000 years of Old Testament history and asks what the experiences of the Kings of Israel and the Prophets who spoke truth to power have to say to us today.
John 1: 9-14, 29-34
As we head into the New Testament part of the God Story, Rosie Lee walks us through what John's gospel tells us about who the Son is - the Word made flesh, who came to dwell in amongst the mess of the world. How are we called to respond?
Isaiah 61: 1-4
Luke 4: 1-21
Jesus was an unlikely King, fulfilling scriptures in unlikely ways. Revd Abby asks what we can learn from how he resisted temptation in ways that God's people had not, and how he might be inviting us to join him in growing his Kingdom on earth.
Colossians 1: 15-20
Luke 22: 14-30
Why does Jesus coming to earth to die for us and to take the punishment for our sins on himself matter so much? And why did he need to rise again? As we approach Holy Week, Revd Stacy invites us to ask these big questions.
Ephesians 3: 1-12
Acts 2: 42-47
When the Holy Spirit came down at Pentecost, he ignited a movement that has gone across the world and lasted 2000 years so far - God's church in the world. Revd Abby asks what that means for us and how we can be church for those around us.
1 Corinthians 12:12-31a
Luke 4: 14-21
As we celebrate 70 years since the consecration of St Paul's new building after the previous one was destroyed in 1940, The Very Revd John Witcombe, Dean of Coventry Cathedral, preaches on being who God has called us to be.

Luke 24: 13-35
As we come to the end of the God Story series, Revd Abby and Lou led an interactive time where we could all think about the story we want our church and its building to tell. How does the story of the Road to Emmaus help us to focus on this?
Romans 8: 18-28
Revelation 21: 1-6
Revd Stacy thinks through the words that were left for God's church as the bible ends. What do they reveal to us about God's priorities for the world and how should we get involved in revealing his love to the people around us?
